Among the report’s findings:

  • CTV Takes the Lead. 50% of US connected sports viewers watch live sports mostly via streaming apps (up 29% YOY), while traditional TV usage fell 18% YOY.

  • Sports Apps are Proliferating. US connected sports viewers avg. of 2.9 apps to stream sports across a growing mix of subscription, network and vMVPDs.

  • Women’s Sports Popularity Growing. 62% of US connected sports viewers watch women’s sports, with the Olympics, basketball and tennis topping the list.

  • Ads are a Welcome Part of Sports Viewing. 48% of US connected sports viewers pay attention to ads during live sports, and 54% find those ads entertaining.
