Each week, we highlight some of the top streaming or TV shows resonating with viewers. This week we highlighted the top sports events, which all three broke TV records!

The Match: Champions For Charity

Live coverage of the one-off golf match teaming Tiger Woods and Peyton Manning against Phil Mickelson and Tom Brady, delivered an average of 5.8 million viewers across TNT, TBS, truTV, and HLN on Saturday afternoon. It was the most-watched golf telecast in the history of cable television. Brady garnered 77% CRAZY *emotional reactions from viewers as he holed out from the fairway, delivered the line of the night, and ripped his pants-all in one hilarious sequence. His good humor and efforts towards raising money for charity earned him 63% of the ENJOY and 42% of the LOVE reactions.

AEW: Double Or Nothing

All Elite Wrestling broke records for the highest-grossing pay-per-view program in its history. Undefeated by the Covid-19 crisis, the event picked up 41,586 ERs with LOVEENJOY, and CRAZY as its top emotional reactions garnered. The high point of the program was centered around Brian Cage, who everyone initially teamed up on by burying him under a pile of rubble and a giant poker chip. CRAZY reactions were exclaimed with viewers saying "Wow and OMG" when he burst from the rubble, threw a ladder out of the ring, climbed another ladder unopposed, and took the dangling poker chip to win an automatic title shot.

Nascar Cup Series

Nascar fans were EXCITED and HAPPY for the race on Sunday! Viewers tweeted sayings of excitement like "Let's do this!" and "Let's Go!" After six hours of competition, which included a rain delay and overtime, Brad Keselowski won the Coca-Cola 600 for the first time in his career. It was the longest race, by miles, in NASCAR history. The race seemed all but over with two laps to go when the caution flag was waved. CRAZY ERs were comprised of "unbelievable, unforgettable night, and that's crazy." Keselowski ranked second only to Jimmie Johnson for the number of LOVE ERs.

Our Method for Measuring Emotion

Canvs is an emotion measurement company that combines data science and human judgment to help understand how people feel. We do this by measuring "Emotional Reactions" or *ERs – a written dialogue response that contains one or more emotional expressions.

Canvs believes in creating a more empathetic world by helping our clients understand how their audiences feel and why they feel that way. Canvs can accurately identify and measure 42 unique emotional expressions such as Love, Hatred, Excitement, Boredom, and Funny.
