While the winter holidays are still months away, smart holiday shoppers are already preparing their wish lists, and on the lookout for the best deals and discounts. LG Ad Solutions conducted a study, entitled Season’s Streamings: Holiday Shopping & TV Viewing Trends in 2024, to understand US consumer holiday shopping behavior and TV viewing habits leading up to this year’s holiday season.

Among the report’s findings:

  • Early birds get the gifts. More CTV users will start holiday shopping early, with 60% starting before Thanksgiving, and these early shoppers will spend 21% more than post-Thanksgiving shoppers.

  • Season’s spending. CTV users expect to spend an average of $801 this holiday season, up 14% YOY一demonstrating to advertisers increased consumer confidence and willingness to pay.

  • Extend those advent calendars! 9 in 10 CTV users will shop for post-holiday deals, and 2 in 3 expect to make returns, which effectively extends this holiday shopping season to Jan. and Feb. 2025.
