These Were The Most Popular Songs On TV This Year (And The Shows That Aired Them)

How many times have you been watching TV and thought “What’s that song?”

Well Tunefind, a division of B2B music platform Songtradr, looked back at 2023 to highlight the songs aired on TV that fans interacted with the most, as well as the top shows responsible for airing them.

The rankings are based on interactions, which go beyond mere search terms. Song and artist rankings are calculated from click counts, defined as when a user either selects the artist’s name or clicks to stream a song. TV shows are ranked by those generating the most overall page views.

Grey’s Anatomy is an annul staple on these lists from TuneFind, so the show’s presence above is expected — and tracks with the data below, which shows the long-running drama was the No. 1 show for music discovery overall on the platform.

Several other top shows are in part designed to create instant earworms. For instance, Apple TV+’s Ted Lasso made a point of showcasing its parent company’s extensive music rights catalog each week throughout its three-season run — something The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel did as well, with period-specific pulls from Amazon’s own large collection of tracks.
