After a debatably disappointing day of football, we are one step closer to the Super Bowl. With the New England Patriots and the Atlanta Falcons coming out victorious in the AFC and NFC championship games, they will take center stage on February 5th; along with dozens of advertisers, of course.
It’s no secret that the Super Bowl is undoubtedly the biggest unveiling of TV ads every year, and according to real-time TV ad attention analytics company iSpot.tv, more than 10 brands have released Super Bowl ad teasers (track them here: iSpot Super Bowl Ad Center).
Last week we took a look at how viewers felt about the Intel and Pepsi ads, and this week Canvs, the language and emotion analytics company, is uncovering the emotional resonance surrounding the Wix spot.
The action-packed ad featuring Jason Statham and Gal Gadot has already garnered over 2.2mm views since it launched on YouTube on January 17th. An analysis of video comments reveals that 55.7% expressed some sort of emotion, according to Canvs. The top emotion was love, which accounted for 64.3% of all Emotional Reactions (ERs), and mainly referenced the co-stars.
Enjoy was another prominent emotion, prompting 11.9% of ERs, and mainly referencing the general nature of the ad.
Love also dominated on Facebook, prompting 43.4% of ERs. (The keywords driving the love on Facebook? Amazing and love about Wix and commercial.)
Stay tuned for more Super Bowl 2017 ad updates as they roll out.
