An Esports Snapshot: The Valuable Esports Audience

  • The ESL Championships attracted 2.2 million concurrent streamers at peak viewership – up 80 percent from just a year ago – and a total of 46 million unique visitors over the two weekends of the championships.
  • Videos expressly tagged “esports” on YouTube have generated a whopping 4.8 billion views alone.
  • Since the beginning of 2017, traditional console gaming has outspent mobile gaming for TV advertising by a factor greater than 3.5-to-1 ($498.3 million versus $138.6 million). That spend has resulted in double the ad impressions -- 22.9 billion to 11.1 billion.
