World Series, NBA Tip Off Grab Notable TV Watch-Time
Welcome to our weekly snapshot of TV by the numbers, highlighting the most-watched shows and networks for October 21-27, with insights from Inscape, the currency-grade smart TV ACR data provider and data technology division of Vizio. Data is linear, live TV only and includes all episode types (new and reruns). Rankings are by percent share duration (i.e., time spent watching).
There was a lot on offer for sports fans this week, including the first two games of the 2024 World Series and the NBA regular season tip off, plus ongoing football action. The NFL continues to dominate watch-time, taking first place with a 6.82% viewership share, followed by college football (5.35%). The two Dodges vs. Yankees games claimed 1.80% of watch-time, winning out over the NBA (1.21%).
A few more insights from the week’s most-watched TV programming:
NFL RedZone jumps from No. 13 to No. 8 week-over-week, capturing a 0.67% viewership share.
Fox News has a bit of a ranking shuffle with some of its top programs: Moving up the chart from the previous week is Jesse Watters Primetime (from No. 19 to No. 15), Hannity (from No. 21 to No. 19) and The Ingraham Angle (from No. 24 to No. 20). Meanwhile, Fox & Friends, America’s Newsroom, The Five and America Reports all have lower ranking positions week-over-week.
Elsewhere in news, two programs are week-over-week ranking newcomers: Gutfeld! takes No. 24 (up from No. 33), while CNN News Central rises one position to No. 25.
Outside of football, Friends was the only program that maintained its ranking position from the previous week (No. 16), with a 0.48% viewership share.
