MLB, Wimbledon Score For TV Watch-Time

Welcome to our weekly snapshot of TV by the numbers, highlighting the most-watched shows and networks for July 1-7, with insights from Inscape, the currency-grade smart TV ACR data provider and data technology division of Vizio. Data is linear, live TV only and includes all episode types (new and reruns). Rankings are by percent share duration (i.e., time spent watching).

Sports made a strong showing during the week that included the Fourth of July festivities. Major League Baseball eked out a home run over Wimbledon, with viewership shares of 1.85% and 1.34%, respectively. The UEFA Euro 2024 soccer championship moves up the field from No. 6 previously to No. 3 with 1.31% of minutes watched. 

A few more insights around the most-watched programming: 

  • The soccer action continues with the Spanish-language broadcasts of Copa América 2024 winning over the English ones (1.01% share vs. 0.68%). 

  • Yellowstone blasts into the ranking at No. 10 thanks to rerun marathons on Paramount Network. 

  • Two Fox News programs move up the chart week-over-week: Fox & Friends rises from No. 12 to No. 8, while The Five takes No. 14 (previously No. 22). 

  • Week-over-week ranking newcomers include Chicago Fire, ABC World News Tonight With David Muir, Wheel of Fortune and Dateline
