Automotive Industry Finds Success On TV With One-Stop Creative Shop

What do BMW, Hyundai, Subaru, Lexus, Toyota, Buick, Mini Cooper, and the new Ford F-150 have in common? Well, besides being automotive manufacturers, they all tap creative services company Big Block for their TV creative campaigns. And with director Cale Glendening recently joining the Big Block directing roster, it looks like Mazda is also joining the club.

Glendening recently worked on a Mazda film project, which featured cutting-edge compound lighting techniques, where lights were flown from drones and ziplines, and HMIs were put into the back of moving vehicles. “This recent project with Mazda proves Glendening's expertise in the space, and will be integral to the future of Big Block as we continue our extensive work in the automotive industry," said Kenny Solomon, Executive Managing Director at Big Block.

Big Block, which has an investment arm, also recently launched Subnation, an entertainment platform celebrating the esports lifestyle as it intersects with music, fashion and art as well. At the most recent E3 gaming convention, Big Block executed an experiential marketing activation with Volkswagen and Marvel, which entailed Marvel artists painting the new 2019 VW Jetta.

As Big Block continues to expand their roster, Glendening will bring continue to bring a worldly perspective to Big Block, having traveled the globe and filming on five continents in more than 40 countries. The renowned director is known for completely immersing himself in his work, and has been tattooed by indigenous rainforest tribes, dined with cannibals along the Ganges River, and hunted with Kazakh-Mongolia Eagle Hunters in the remote Altai Mountains.
