User 1: If you are looking for a sleek HDTV at a bargain price, then look no further. This is it. First, I’ll point out what I don’t like about it…

The setup is a little confusing but after about five minutes, I found my way out of the maze. Another thing I don’t really like is the stand. I think it could be better. I had no problems setting that one up, though. That’s all about things I don’t like.

This tv is just so sleek. I am amazed at the fact that it does NOT glare at all. Some folks have complained about poor viewing angles but, no matter what angle I have watched from, I haven’t made that “discovery”.

This is great for video games too. However, it’s important that you don’t get your hopes too high as far as picture quality is concerned. With the Game picture setting, though, I was able to get something that was good enough for my needs.

If you don’t have a full home theater system, don’t worry. The sound onboard this tv is pretty rich enough and will serve until you are ready to upgrade your sound setup.

Yes, this is just 60hz refresh rate, I know. But then bear in mind that those ones that come at 120hz cost at least $500 more. So if you are among the few for whom savings of $500 mean nothing, go ahead and buy this tv. It’s good. I am a college student and it’s good enough for me. It gets a five star rating. Yes, in spite of the stand I mentioned earlier.

User 2: I really like this tv and rate it quite highly. If you want a tv that shows black as black, gives high quality video and has very bright back light, you’ve found it in the 42LD450. One problem, though, is that we don’t know how to hook this up to our surround system since all it has is just an optical audio output.

Also, bear in mind that you just get average speakers. Don’t expect anything more than is usual with tv speakers. No, you can’t get anything close to your home theater from it. But that said, this is worth every cent we paid for it. We are happy with our purchase and definitely recommend it to you if it fits your need.

User 3: This is for you if you are looking for a good balance between price and performance. I love the energy-saving features. I love the modes that make it a lot easier for you to set up if you choose NOT to go the custom route. It’s also a good thing it has an optical audio out since that means I can hook up my 5.1 sound via my old receiver.

But that said, I think that the remote is less than it should be (However, I won’t weigh this too heavily against LG considering that it’s almost standard these days for manufacturers to throw in very cheap remote controls — After all, most people end up NOT using them). However, this does NOT mean it doesn’t get the job done. It does. It’s just that we’ve become used to better.

Even though my knowledge is limited and you can’t call me an expert in these matters, I am definitely pleased with my experience so far and would recommend it since I think it is a very good purchase.
